Terms & Conditions

These terms set out the ground rules for using Roam—so you can move with purpose, support restoration, and know exactly where you stand.

EFFECTIVE FROM

21 July 2026

1. Using Roam

By creating a Roam account, joining the waitlist, or otherwise using the Roam app or website (together, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

You must be at least 16 years old to create a Roam account. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian should review these terms with you.

  1. About Roam

Roam is a platform being developed to encourage movement while supporting environmental restoration and community conservation initiatives.

At this stage, the website is intended to:

  • provide information about Roam

  • collect waitlist registrations

  • connect with potential conservation partners

  • share updates about the project

Some features described on this website are currently under development and may change before launch.

2. Waitlist registration

By joining the Roam waitlist you agree that:

  • the information you provide is accurate

  • we may contact you with updates about Roam

  • joining the waitlist does not guarantee early access or a launch date

  • you may unsubscribe from communications at any time

3. Impact Points

Impact Points are a way to recognise participation in Roam. They are not money, do not carry cash value, and cannot be sold, exchanged, or transferred. We may change how points are earned or used as Roam evolves.

4. Community conduct

We want Roam to be a generous, grounded space. Do not misuse the service, interfere with its security, or share content that is unlawful, harmful, or designed to mislead others.

5. Intellectual property

The Roam name, logo, habitat artwork, and app design are owned by Roam Technologies. You keep ownership of the activity data and content you upload, but grant Roam a licence to use it to operate and improve the Service.

6. Conservation partners

Roam works with third-party organisations on native forest restoration, freshwater restoration, kiwi conservation, and community trail building. These partners operate independently, and Roam is not responsible for their day-to-day project delivery.

7. Future features

Roam is an evolving platform.

Features shown on this website, including but not limited to:

  • Impact Points

  • habitat restoration

  • conservation campaigns

  • app functionality

  • rewards

  • donation features

are subject to change as the platform develops.

Nothing on this website should be interpreted as a guarantee that a particular feature will be available at launch.

8. Donations

Roam may introduce opportunities for users to support conservation organisations through financial donations.

Where donations are facilitated through third-party payment providers, additional terms and conditions may apply.

Roam does not guarantee the future availability of any specific donation feature or conservation campaign.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • misuse the website

  • attempt to gain unauthorised access

  • interfere with the website's operation

  • upload malicious software

  • use automated tools to scrape website content without permission

  • infringe the intellectual property rights of Roam or others

11. No warranty

We work hard to ensure the information on this website is accurate and up to date.

However, the website is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

We do not guarantee that:

  • the website will always be available

  • information will always be current

  • the website will be free from errors or interruptions

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Roam is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from:

  • use of the website

  • reliance on information contained on the website

  • temporary interruption of website services

  • technical issues beyond our control

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.

13. Privacy

Your use of this website is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

Please read our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use and protect your personal information.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

The most recent version will always be published on this page with an updated revision date.

Continued use of the website after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.

Any disputes relating to these Terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
